AMARILLO, TX — One woman has died after a hit-and-run crash that happened in Amarillo, Texas on Sunday, April 13th, 2014, according to a news release from The Amarillo Globe.
Amarillo police have said that they believe 65-year-old Lucille Valverde was killed when she was struck by a vehicle while driving on 300 East Street. The vehicle that struck hers fled the scene after the collision.

Lucille Valverde was taken by EMS personnel to a nearby hospital where she died weeks after her arrival.
Authorities are looking for the vehicle, and hope any eyewitnesses that have not yet come forward will do so in an effort to aid investigators in better understanding what may have happened.
