Palestine TX local authorities stated that a hit-and-run accident along the South Loop 256 left 51-year old Tamayo Marcelo. According to reports a pickup truck driven by 22-year old Colby Dwayne Sims struck Marcelo while he was walking along Loop 256s shoulder with a friend. Marcelo was taken to a local hospital for his injuries and later airlifted to another medical center.

Police said that Sims was charged for the accident after eyewitnesses reported the accident. There were no other injuries reported in the accident. Officials are expected to investigate the matter further and did not release any more details on Marcelos condition. The accident happened on June 18 2012 at about 9:00 in the evening.
