Monterey Park, CA — A suspected DUI accident left one person dead and two injured in Monterey Park, California, last Saturday. The accident was between a Hyundai and a Ferrari, and took place when a driver ran a red light at the intersection of Garvey and New Avenues.
The accident occurred when the Hyundai, being driven by Omar Placencia, crashed into a Ferrari being driven by Fu Duan. Duan was killed in the accident. A passenger in his car was critically injured.
Police suspect that the driver of the Hyundai was drunk at the time of the accident. Authorities are still trying to figure out exactly how the accident occurred, and which driver had the right of way at the intersection.
