Commentary:
We don’t exactly know what caused this particular accident, but on the off chance the driver of the van was distracted, people need to know their what may happen after-the-fact. Keeping in mind that this may not be the case, but if the driver was distracted, or exhausted, the company he works for may face some serious scrutiny. Any type of commercial vehicle company has a great deal of time and finances invested in their drivers and vehicles, and will do what is necessary to protect their bottom line. This is not limited to shifting blame onto victims, saying that they failed to properly avoid the accident, which would not have made the driver any less negligent. These situations can be complex and intimidating, and people need to know what they potentially face with these kind of accidents.
