Owasso, OK — Last Thursday, there was a serious car accident reported in Owasso that resulted in a 17-year old girl suffering critical injuries. Police said that Brittian Harrison, 29, was arrested for allegedly being under the influence of alcohol after he caused a car accident on Highway 169.
This all happened last Thursday (January 29, 2015) at about 10:30 p.m. at night. Harrison had been driving along Highway 169 that night near 76th Street when he suddenly swerved into the lane next to his and slammed on his brakes, cutting off the car behind him.
That driver (the 17-year old girl) wasn’t able to react in time and crashed into lost control of her car, swerving off the road and flipping over at least 5 times. The teen was immediately transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.
After the accident, a witness followed Harrison’s car because he fled the scene. Police were eventually able to apprehend and arrest him, noting that he smelled and sounded like he was under the influence. He apparently admitted to police that he had been drinking “3 to 4 bottles of beer” at a local bowling alley. He also had an 8-year old boy in his vehicle at the time.
Right now, the charges against him are pending.
