Killdeer, ND — There was a serious accident over the weekend that claimed the life of a local man from Lakes Stevens, WA. Police said that 24-year old Christopher Parker was killed while Tehron Davis, 34, and Travis Wilkinson, 31, were both injured when Wilkinson’s pickup truck lost control and was hit by an 18-wheeler.
The accident happened at about 1:30 p.m. last Saturday afternoon, November 29, 2014. Travis Wilkinson was driving his Dodge truck west along Highway 200, just about 2 miles east of Killdeer, when he lost control for unknown reasons.
His truck briefly swerved off the side of the highway, then went into oncoming traffic after Wilkinson over-corrected. His Dodge pickup truck was then hit by an oncoming 18-wheeler in the eastbound lanes, which killed Christopher Parker (a passenger in Wilkinson’s truck) immediately.
The accident injured both Travis Wilkinson and another passenger in his truck, Tehron Davis. Police said both Davis and Wilkinson were taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
The truck driver was identified as Michael Fideldy and his passenger was identified as Gabriel Danckert. Neither of those men were injured. Right now, the NDHP are working on figuring out what exactly caused Wilkinson to lose control of his truck that afternoon.
