NEW ORLEANS, LA — One person has died after a serious motorcycle accident that happened in New Orleans, Louisiana on Wednesday, June 18th, 2014, according to a report from NOLA.
Investigators from the New Orleans Police say that they have reason to believe one man died when the Buell motorcycle he was driving collided with a Nissan Altima while driving on General DeGaulle Drive near the intersection with Wall Boulevard around 1:30 in the afternoon.
Scene of the Accident
The driver of the motorcycle was taken by paramedics to a hospital where he died a short time later. The driver of the Nissan sustained unspecified injuries in the accident and remains in stable condition.
The investigation is being handled by officials from the The Orleans Parish Coroner’s office.
While the report is fuzzy on all the details in the accident, this is one case where the wreckage and the scene of the accident could tell us quite a bit about what happened. If there was any kind of problem within the mechanics of the vehicle, all it would take is a close inspection to tell where the problem was, and if it was in any way related to the accident. If the brakes locked, or the throttle stuck, the vehicle manufacturer could be liable, but nobody will no for sure until the evidence is inspected.
