On Sunday July 4 Kirk Harris was involved in afirework accident caused him serious injuries and most of his fingers. The accident occurred at an outdoor IndependenceDay celebration in Caddo Lake LA. According to local news reports a firework backfired on Harris blowingoff most of his fingers on both hands. Harris was rushed to LSU Hospital and immediately went intosurgery. In addition to losing hisfingers Harris suffered injuries to his colon and is currently on arespirator. The accident remains underinvestigation as police try to determine why the firework backfired.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.
