On Wednesday June 2 an accident between a big rigtruck and pickup truck left two people injured in Gaston County NC. The crash occurred just before 12:00 p.m. atan intersection between Huffstetler Lake Road and Ike Lynch Road. Initial news reports about the accident statethat a big rig carrying logs crashed into a pickup truck but reports did notstate exactly how the accident occurred. One person in the pickup was confirmed to be injured and was taken toGaston Memorial Hospital while another victim was hurt as well but reports didnot indicate where the second victim was taken. The victims’ names were not released nor were the extent of theirinjuries. Police are still investigatingthe accident.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.
