On Friday April 2 Maitland Stevens was injured in a traffic collision in Sherman ME. Stevens was a dump truck driver employed by the Maine Department of Transportation. When the incident occurred Stevens was protecting highway workers by parking his dump truck behind them on I-95. Allegedly he was injured when a passing 18 wheeler crashed into his dump truck. Both drivers were injured in the incident. Stevens suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is currently being treated in a nearby hospital. The incident is still being investigated by transportation officials.
Being injured in a traffic accident is a painful and traumatic experience. Investigating this incident may show that the accident was caused by the negligence of another party. In this case the injured victim may wish to file a personal injury lawsuit. Unfortunately this is almost never an easy process. I have worked on these types of suits for twenty years and I have seen that people may go to extraordinary lengths to avoid accepting responsibility for someone else’s injuries. The truth however is that the law is on your side. With the help of a legal professional with personal injury experience you can ensure that those accountable for your accident are held accountable for their negligence.
