Mountain Lakes, NJ — There was a small explosion at the Mountain Lake Bagels store on Route 46 this past Saturday, June 20, that left a female worker with injuries. Her name wasn’t released, but the police said that she was badly burned.
The accident happened in the morning hours, the news said. Workers were in the back kitchen at Mountain Lakes Bagels when an aerosol can of cooking spray accidentally fell to the floor and went underneath a grill.
After the grill was turned on, the can overheated and exploded, burning a female worker.
She was taken to a hospital for hands, legs, face, and thigh burns while another worker was treated at the scene for less serious burns. The company closed the store directly after the accident and it’s not clear when they re-opened.
