Commentary
Accidents involving school buses can be tricky because school buses typically belong to a school district, which belongs to the city, and filing a claim against the city is always a little tricky. I can’t speak to specific laws in every state, but in Texas, there are very strict filing deadlines that must be observed, as well as limits to the amount of compensation an injured party can receive. However, these sorts of accidents are handled, however, this is definitely an accident that needs to be looked into further. School bus drivers are held to a pretty high standard, because they’re transporting children, and are capable of causing so much damage with only a single mistake. If this accident happened because of a driver’s inattention to the road, he needs to be held accountable for it.
