San Diego, CA — A construction worker was injured after being involved in a cave-in at a work site in San Diego, California, on Friday, March 20, 2015. The accident took place at the intersection of La Jolla Shores Drive and Avenida de la Playa.
The man was working inside a trench helping to install a pipeline when the trench caved in. Other workers at the site were able to help free the man. Emergency workers responding to the accident transported the man to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. The man’s name was not released, and news sources didn’t say how extensive his injuries were.
No other injuries were reported in the accident. Authorities are currently investigating the accident, although it’s not clear if the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified.
