Commentary:
The report said that the ambulance failed to stop at the red light in the accident, and mentioned that the driver of the ambulance was faulted for the accident. Now, normally, with emergency vehicles, they run the road when they’re on the way to a call, but the news made it sound like this is not the case here. Furthermore, the photos from the scene show the ambulance didn’t have any kind of government badging on the side, meaning, this may be a private ambulance company, potentially removing all the road blocks and hurdles that come with bringing a claim against a government entity. This is one situation that really needs a much closer look, and I’d be curious to know what witnesses may have seen.
