Commentary
Reports say that the truck driver was hauling 30,000 pounds of frozen chicken. Honestly, I wonder if that had anything to do with the crash. I’ve seen accidents similar to this one in the past in which a truck’s load isn’t properly secured, it shifts while the truck’s out on the road, causing the truck to lose control and crash. Typically, any accident like this is going to be handled by the trucking company’s workers’ comp policy. But if a third party was responsible for loading the truck, and it was improperly secured, they could find themselves liable for the accident.
