Crawford, TX — A woman was injured in a two-vehicle car accident that took place in Crawford, Texas, on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. The accident happened on Highway 6, near Compton Road, around 7:45 in the morning.
Witnesses to the accident say that the driver of an SUV apparently lost control of her vehicle and skidded on the road before being hit by a passing pickup truck. The woman was trapped in her vehicle following the accident and had to be extricated by emergency workers.
Reports say that conditions on the road were icy at the time. The woman’s immediate condition wasn’t known, and no other injuries were reported.
The names of those involved in the crash were not released.

I’d be interested to know which direction the pickup truck was driving at the time of the accident. Obviously, people need to take extra care when driving in these conditions. But many don’t, and insist on driving just as they would any other day of the year. It’s very possible that the pickup involved in this accident crashed into the victim’s SUV simply because it was following too closely and wasn’t driving at a slow enough speed. Of course, I wasn’t there, so it’s possible that there was nothing wrong with the pickup’s driving, and there was just no avoiding this one. But it’s something that needs to be looked into.
