Commentary
I’d be really interested to know exactly why this accident happened. A quick look at Google Maps show that the area where this happened has street lights, as well as a posted speed limit of 25 miles per hour. So, we have an area where the driver shouldn’t have been driving that fast, that was lit, and even if it wasn’t, there should have come a time when the driver’s own headlights should have shown her that there was someone walking up ahead of her vehicle. I wasn’t at the scene, so I can’t say exactly what happened. But when I take all these things into consideration, I begin to think that the reason for the accident is just that the driver wasn’t paying as much attention to the road as they should have been.
