Cass Lake, MN — There was an accident, a serious one, reported near Cass Lake this past Tuesday (March 3, 2015) that left an elderly woman with major injuries. Police said that Pearl Bisson, 86, was badly injured after he car was in an accident with an 18-wheeler truck along Highway 2.
The accident happened on Tuesday at about 12:00 p.m., near a rest area off the highway. According to their reports, Mrs. Bisson was driving her car out of the rest area (which is right across from Second Street NE) and was pulling onto Highway 2 when she was hit by a westbound 18-wheeler truck.
The accident left Bisson with major injuries and she had to be taken to a hospital immediately. The truck driver, identified as 53-year old Paul Rance, wasn’t injured and did not need treatment. There was, however, some worry that the explosive agents he was hauling on his 18-wheeler would ignite, but no problems occurred.
