Perry, NY — Police identified Jenna Borek as the woman who was hurt in an accident with a tractor-trailer in Perry, New York, on Thursday, March 5, 2015. The accident took place on Route 20A and Simmons Road.
Very few details about the accident have been released. Report say that Borek was traveling south on Simmons when she was hit by an eastbound semi truck.
She suffered critical injuries and was taken to Strong Hospital in Rochester, New York. At last report, she was listed in stable condition.
The driver of the semi was identified as 44-year old Grzegorz Pawel. There’s been no word on whether or not he was injured in the accident. Police are still investigating.

While news reports say that the victim’s vehicle was hit by a tractor-trailer, they don’t give any details as to why that’s the case. How did the accident happen? Roads were icy, so it’s possible that the driver lost control of his truck. If that’s the case, and speed played a role in the accident, that’s something he can definitely be held liable for. Unfortunately, trucking companies are notorious about defeding bad accidnts. Even the ones they’re responsible for. What’s needed in these cases is evidence. Skid marks at the scene, any surveillance footage, data from the truck’s Electronic Control Module. All of those things are going to help give a clearer picture of what happened in the final seconds before the crash, and could be key in proving a victim’s case.
