Commentary:
I know the news hasn’t mentioned it, but given the time the accident happened, is it really much of a leap of deductive reasoning to think that alcohol may have played a role in the accident? If the driver was found to have been under the influence, I’d be very interested to know where they became intoxicated. If it was at a local bar or tavern, and they were served beyond the point of obvious intoxication, then the bar that served them needs to be punished right along with them. Texas has some pretty extraordinary policies when it comes to holding bars accountable when they cut a drunk driver loose on our roads. If the bar gave the driver too much to drink, they have broken the law, and can be seen as an “accomplice” to the drunk driver.
