Martin County, TX — A rollover accident in Martin County, Texas, left one man injured and another dead on Monday, February 23, 2015. The accident took place on Highway 137, about 14 miles north of Stanton.
Police identified Billy Clyde as the driver of a Ford F-350 that drifted into the oncoming lanes of traffic before rolling his vehicle. Clyde died in the accident.
A passenger inside Clyde’s vehicle, identified as 33-year Dustin Hansen, was injured and taken to Midland Memorial Hospital. At last report, he was listed in stable condition.
Police are investigating the accident, but say that speed likely played a role.

Drivers have a legal obligation to care for their customers while traveling on the road. If a passenger is injured because of the driver’s unsafe behavior, how would the driver not be responsible for that? Of course, there are other things which could be to blame for an accident like this. But in many cases, these accidents are caused because of a driver who just wasn’t taking as much care as he should have while out on the road.
