Commentary:
Just by looking at the 2:30 a.m. time of the accident, I’m seriously wondering if the driver was trying to make his way home after a long night out at the bars. What makes me ask this, and what bearing does it have on the accident? Well, if the bar served this driver beyond the point of intoxication, every drink furnished to them after they displayed signs of intoxication may have been an illegal sale. Bars and other alcohol serving establishments are fobidden from selling alcohol to anybody who displays signs of intoxication and drunkeness. These regulations and laws are not on the books to starve bars and restaurants of precious revenue, they exist to safeguard our roads. The state is going to punish the driver of the vehicle to the best of their ability, but the victims have the burden of holding the bar responsible, as they should if they could have cut this driver off and prevented this accident.
