Aiken County, SC — A man was hospitalized after a rollover accident in Aiken County, South Carolina, on Friday, February 20, 2015. The accident happened near the intersection of Desoto Drive and Williston Road.
Police say that an 18-wheeler rolled over, injuring its driver. The man’s identity was not released, but emergency workers took him to an area hospital for his injuries. No information on the man’s condition has been released.
The truck was hauling aluminum and metal.
No other injuries were reported. The rollover is still being investigated by police.

I know a lot of people might look at an accident like this, blame the driver, and move on. However, I think people who jump to those sort of conclusions without evidence to support them are making a mistake. Unfortunately, semi-trucks are the ultra-strong tanks a lot of people make them out to be, and there are things that could have caused this accident that have nothing to do with the driver. Reports say that the truck was hauling aluminum and metal. Was his load improperly secured? Is it possible that it shifted while he was on the road, and that caused his truck to roll over? Hopefully, the investigation into the accident will shed some light on this in the coming days.
