Commentary:
Currently, California has no real viable way to hold bars accountable for drunk driving accidents, where in a great many of states, liquor liability laws have been around for decades. In these states that allow citizens to hold bars accountable for when they over-serve, bars can be taken to civil court for when they pour too many drinks for a driver, and that driver then causes an accident. Many people do not see this as fair, but is it really fair or reasonable to give somebody 20 shots in three hours and let them drive home?
