Odessa, TX — There was an accident this past Sunday evening in Odessa that claimed the life of a motorcyclist. The accident happened at about 8:00 p.m. on Sunday night (February 15, 2015) and the man who died was identified as James Bryan, 45 years old.
Police said that Bryan passed away when his Harley-Davidson motorcycle was in a rear-end collision with an SUV. He had been riding his motorcycle south along County Road yesterday evening, they reported, when he came to the intersection with University.
There was a Toyota 4Runner sitting at the red light, but Bryan’s motorcycle didn’t slow down in time and crashed into the back of it. The impact caused the SUV to hit another Toyota SUV in front of it.
James Bryan was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries, but died a short time later. The driver of the SUV, Sophia Samaniego, 49, and her daughter, 15, were both treated for non-serious injuries.
Right now, it’s not clear clear why Bryan’s motorcycle didn’t slow down in time.
