Mount Pleasant, TX — A man was struck by an 18-wheeler truck along I-30 this morning (Thursday, February 12, 2015) along I-30 in Mount Pleasant. The man, later identified as 31-year old Archie Boyd, was taken to a hospital with major injuries.
According to the news, it appears that Archie Boyd ran across I-30 at about 4:15 a.m. Thursday morning when he was hit by a westbound 18-wheeler truck. The accident left him with serious injuries and he had to be taken to a nearby hospital.
The truck driver, however, wasn’t harmed. He told police that he didn’t have enough time to stop before Boyd ran into the roadway. As of Thursday afternoon, police didn’t mention anything about charges being filed. They also didn’t say why Boyd ran into the roadway that morning or if there were any other factors (like impairment) that might be a factor here.
