TOMS RIVER, NJ — Romana Glasser was identified by local police as the woman that was burned in a fire in Toms River, New Jersey on Sunday, February 8th, 2015. The news reports mentioned that the accident happened sometime Sunday morning.
59-year-old Romana Glasser was hurt when a fire broke out in her bathroom at a nursing home in Toms River. The news did not say how the fire started, nor did it mention the nursing home by name.
Glasser was flown by EMS to a nearby hospital where she was being treated for the injuries she sustained in the accident.
New Jersey State Police are investigating the cause of the fire at this time.

Commentary:
The fault in this accident is going to depend heavily on the source of the fire. Was it an issue with the gas or electrical lines in the building? If so, then the property owners could be looking at what is called a premises liability claim. On the other hand, there could have been some kind of appliance like a radiator or space heater that combusted, in which case the manufacturer of the fire-prone product could be held liable for the accident. I’d be very curious to know what started the fire if anybody has any more input.
