Wingate, NC — A driver was hospitalized after being involved in an accident with a school bus in Wingate, North Carolina, on Monday, February 9, 2015. The accident happened on McIntyre Road, near the intersection of Austin Chaney Road.
It was around 8:00 in the morning when a van crossed the road’s center line while traveling along McIntyre and crashed head-on into the bus. The driver reportedly broke both legs, his back, an arm and a hand. Paramedics rushed him to a local hospital.
The driver of the bus sustained unspecified minor injuries and was taken to Carolinas Medical Center — Union. The names of both drivers weren’t released.
There were no children aboard the bus at the time.
The reason for the crash is still being investigated.
