Commentary:
Because people have an overwhelming propensity to blame teenagers for accidents for no other reason than their age, I want to illustrate a scenario where this accident is not the fault of a young driver. It seems that almost monthly we see new reports of automobile recalls. Is there any reason that a young driver would be somehow immune to a defective or dangerous vehicle? Absolutely not. A dangerous manufacturer error cares not for age, and if there was a problem with this vehicle, as many seem to have, then the manufacturer could be liable for this accident. There are plenty of ways that this accident could have been wholly out of the control of the young driver, and these need to be looked into before blame can be assigned.
