Commentary
This is an example of an accident that can spiderweb, injuring others who were not involved in the initial collision. The driver who caused the accident can be held liable for all of it. Many people are under the impression that if a car is hit from behind, causing it to hit the car in front of it, then its responsible for the car it rear-ended. That’s not true. There are all sorts of exceptions to that rule, and insurance companies realize that, which can lead to them stalling whenever you file a claim. It’s important for those involved in these sorts of accidents to take the time to educate on what the law says about them.
