Otis, KS — There was a collision between two 18-wheeler trucks left one of the drivers injured this past Friday night, police with the Kansas Highway Patrol said. The accident was reported around 11:00 p.m. on Friday night, January 30, and the driver who was injured has been identified as Chris Michael, 56, from Great Bend.
This particular accident happened along County Road 390 on Friday night, just north of U.S. Highway 96. Both Chris Michael and another truck driver, 75-year old Kenneth Roach, were headed south on County Road 390 that night when they came to the bridge at Walnut Creek.
Roach stopped his truck, he told police, because he was trying to avoid hitting a stopped car in front of him. Michael was behind Roach and didn’t brake in time, crashing into the back of Roach’s 18-wheeler.
The accident left Chris Michael with some injuries, and he was taken to a hospital for treatment. It doesn’t look as though Kenneth Roach was injured, however.
