Commentary
Unfortunately, these semi-trucks have a whole host of safety issues that most people don’t think about. One of those is that the truck can be become unstable and roll if the load it’s hauling ever shifts while it’s out on the road. Usually, a work accident like this is going to be handled through a company’s workers’ comp policy. However, if the accident did occur because of shifting load, and it’s found that a third party was responsible for the loading, it’s possible that they could be held liable. The injured driver would still be eligible for workers’ comp benefits, but would also have grounds to bring a claim against the loading company.
