Commentary:
Based on the initial reports trickling out about this accident, I’d say that the pickup truck driver is probably going to be faulted for the accident. Reports said that a tractor-trailer pulled in front of the bus unexpectedly, but the bus managed to avoid a collision, why could the driver of the pickup truck not avoid an accident? Well, if I were to guess, I’d say that the truck was following too closely. Every driver has an obligation to the driver in front of them to keep enough space between the vehicles so they can stop in the event the leading vehicle becomes suddenly stationary. Any failure to this can and often does cause accidents.
