LOCKHART, FL — Five people had to be taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident that happened in Lockhart, Florida on Thursday, January 22nd, 2015. The news article said that the accident happened around 10:00 Thursday night.
Authorities said that five people, identified as Michael Alexander, Madeline Garry, Charles Rentz, Joseph Salustro, and Christopher Greaney were hurt when an SUV and a van collided on Lockhart drive. Authorities think the SUV driven by Salustro may have lost control when it struck the van.
All five were taken to the hospital after the accident.
The investigation is currently underway.

The news said that the offending driver may have lost control of the vehicle, and many people wonder what this means, and what it may imply for how the case is examined though a legal lens. First of all, I’ve been researching and litigating accidents for 25 years, and never once have I seen a solitary car lose control when it was driving at too safe a speed. It simply doesn’t happen, so if the accident unfolded how the news implied it did, I can’t see too many reasons why the driver of the SUV wouldn’t be faulted for the accident, but again, it depends on a great deal of information missing from the news reports.
