Grimes County, TX — Two people were sent to the hospital after a three-vehicle accident in Grimes County, Texas, on Sunday, January 25, 2015. The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 6 and FM 2.
There were two lights at the intersection: a flashing red light and a flashing yellow light. A Jeep at the flashing yellow was crossing the intersection when it was hit by a Buick that was crossing at the flashing red. Both vehicles were then hit by a pickup truck.
The drivers of all three vehicles were taken to local hospitals. The driver of the Jeep, identified only as a 23-year old woman, suffered serious injuries and was taken to St. Joseph Hospital. The driver of the Buick suffered minor injuries.
The names of those involved weren’t released.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash. No other injuries were reported.

I wish we had some more information about what happened here. Reports say that the two vehicles involved in the initial collision had a flashing yellow light and a flashing red light. Well, a flashing red means to stop and check to make sure the way is clear. That, added to the fact that it was the Buick that hit the Jeep makes me think that the driver of the Buick just wasn’t watching the road. If she’s found to be at fault, then she would be liable for the accident. Or perhaps it’d be more accurate to say that the driver of the Jeep would have grounds to bring a claim against her, as being found at-fault by the police doesn’t constitute an obligation for the driver to makes things right with the victim.
