Commentary:
Now, people need to understand that with large construction projects, there are often several companies and contracting agencies working at the same site at the same time. Nowadays, there are electric companies, concrete specialists, HVAC installers, pluming, painters, and framers, all working together. If a company besides the one the victim was working for was at fault for whatever caused this accident, then the victim may have a claim against them, instead of his employer with a disadvantageous system of workers’ compensation. This is significant because it wouldn’t allow the victim’s employer to low-ball them on their damages, which employers tend to do. Instead, it would be a negligence claim against the company responsible for the accident, which we in the legal field call a intervening third party
