Texas City, TX — On Friday night, a man on his bicycle was killed after a driver struck him and drove away. Richard Alan Reazin, 49, was identified the victim and police in Texas City eventually located the driver, 76-year old Rene Sanchez.
They said that this accident happened at about 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening, along Highway 146. Reazin was apparently riding his bicycle along the highway when he was hit by Sanchez’s car, just short of Highway 1765.
After striking Reazin with his car, Sanchez allegedly turned into a parking lot, removed Reazin’s body from his car, and continued to drive home. Police later found him at his residence and arrested him.
Reazin was found by a passerby and was declared dead from severe head injuries after emergency services were notified. The accident is still under investigation and Sanchez allegedly faces failure to stop and render aid charges and was arrested.
