Severy, KS — A young woman was killed on New Year’s Day (Thursday, January 1, 2015) after a fatal head-on collision with a semi-truck on U.S. 400. The accident happened at about 5:00 p.m. that day and the woman was identified as Quincy Foster, 20, from Olathe.
Not many details were released about the wreck itself, but it appears that Foster was driving her SUV westward along U.S. Highway 400 that evening when she lost control near X Road/Coroad.
Her SUV fishtailed into oncoming traffic, where it was hit by an eastbound semi-truck. The impact killed Foster immediately and did not injure the semi-truck or his passenger. Their identities weren’t released.
Right now, police are working on why the accident happened and whether it could have been avoided. It doesn’t look as though the semi-truck driver will face any charges, though.
