Carlsbad, NM — At the start of the New Year, a worker was critically injured by a industrial accident in rural Carlsbad, news reports said. The details aren’t very clear, but it appears that a worker installing Poly Pipe was hit and injured by some heavy equipment or machinery.
The accident was reported on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at a site near White Pine Road & Picket Road — several miles northwest of Carlsbad.
Right now, all that’s now is that this worker was installing some Poly Pipe at the site when he was struck by some equipment. He was initially taken to a hospital in Carlsbad, but had to be transported to an El Paso hospital in Texas due to the severity of his injuries.
His name hasn’t been released and it’s not clear for whom he was working at the time. The Eddy County Sheriff’s Office may have more information about this to release later, as they were in charge of the original investigation.
