Chicago, IL — A five-year old sustained critical injuries after being hit by a car in Chicago, Illinois, on Saturday, January 10, 2015. The accident took place in the 500 block of North Pine Avenue, around 7:00 in the evening.
Sources say that the driver of the vehicle attempted to swerve before the accident happened, but was unsuccessful. The young child was pinned underneath the car following the collision, and had to be removed by emergency workers.
Paramedics took him to a local hospital. At last report, he had been listed in critical condition.
Neither the boy’s name, or the name of the driver of the vehicle have been released. Police are investigating the accident.
