Las Cruces, NM — Three people were taken to local hospitals after a motorcycle accident in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. The accident happened at the intersection of Main and Melendrez streets.
Reports say that a motorcycle carrying one individual and another carrying two individuals had stopped at a red light at El Paseo Road. When the light turned green, both bikes sped off. The two bikes apparently crashed into each other, although news sources don’t offer specifics on how the crash occurred.
The two individuals on the first motorcycle were taken to University Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, while the occupant of the second motorcycle was taken to a local hospital. Their names were not released. Although information on their specific conditions isn’t available, police say their injuries don’t seem to be life-threatening.
The accident is under investigation.
