Redding, CA — An employee suffered minor injuries after an accident in Redding, California. The accident happened on Thursday, January 9, 2015, at G&M Design, around 9:30 in the morning.
Reports say that the employee had been moving materials with a forklift when he stepped off to check something, forgetting that the machine was still in gear. The machine rolled back, pinning his leg.

Commentary
If we’re just being honest here, these accidents are sometimes caused because people just aren’t paying enough attention to what they’re doing. But other times these accidents happen because workers don’t receive the proper training on the equipment they’re expected to use. Sometimes these employees are temporary workers, and are thrown into unfamiliar situations. Other times the employer just isn’t taking enough care to provide their workers with the tools they need to do their job. I don’t know exactly what happened here, but I think this is something that, if nothing else, deserves to be looked at.
