Sugar Land, TX — A man was injured in two consecutive accidents in Sugar Land, Texas, on Saturday, January 3, 2015. The accident took place on Gaines Road, near Jessie Parker Road.
Police say that a man was traveling along Gaines when he lost control of his car and drove into a ditch. The man got out of his vehicle to inspect the damage and walked into the middle of the road, where he was hit by a passing vehicle. The man’s name has not been released.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian called authorities and waited for them to arrive. Paramedics responding to the scene airlifted the man to Memorial Hermann Texas Trauma Institute. Officials said that he is in serious condition, but stable.
Police have said that alcohol did not factor into the crash, and no charges are expected to be filed.
