Waco, TX — On New Year’s Day of last week, a hit-and-run car accident in a residential area of Waco left three children injured. Police said that a driver in a truck crashed into a car on a residential street, then fled the scene.
This happened at about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, January 1, 2015. A woman in a car transporting her three children was driving near the intersection of Trice Avenue and 20th Street.
The way the news reports are telling the story, she approached the intersection while a man in a pickup truck was heading the opposite direction. Since the roads are narrow, the woman had stopped her car to allow the truck to pass her.
However, the truck driver crashed into the woman’s car and fled the scene. Police said that the three children in the car were all taken to a hospital with injuries, but that the mother was not harmed. Their condition wasn’t released as of Monday.
The driver of the pickup truck was apparently identified, but his name hasn’t been released. Police said they’re looking for him.
