Greenback, TN — Police have identified five-year old Lillian Creek as the girl who was injured in an accident with an ambulance in Greenback, Tennessee, on Wednesday, December 31, 2014. The accident took place on Highway 95, near the intersection with Sinking Creek Road, around 9:30 in the morning.
According to local reports, Jessica Creek was driving a minivan and crossed the highway’s center line, coming into oncoming traffic. Richard Williams was driving an ambulance in the oncoming lane and attempted to swerve out of the way, but reportedly did not have any room to maneuver. Both vehicles collided.
Lillian Creek sustained critical injuries and was taken to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital for treatment. Four other children were inside the van at the time, ages 2, 4, 6 and 7. Seven-year old Landon Creek sustained a hand injury and was also taken to the hospital. In all, Jessica Creek, as well as three of her children were injured in the accident and taken to local hospitals.
Inside the ambulance with Williams at the time was EMT Keshia Bledsoe. She was taken to UT Medical Center while Williams was taken to Fort Loudoun Medical Center.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
