Edna, TX — Police have released the identity of the tractor-trailer driver who was injured in a single-vehicle accident in Edna, Texas, on Friday, December 26, 2014. The accident took place on Highway 111, around 2:45 in the afternoon.
Local reports list the man’s name as John Salmon. Salmon was traveling east on 111, near the Lavaca-Jackson county line when his tractor-trailer drove off the road. Reports say that the truck’s cab separated from the trailer and both rolled over.
Paramedics responding to the accident transported Salmon to University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin, Texas. He reportedly suffered a broken neck, but has been listed in stable condition. No one else was involved in the accident and no other injuries were reported.
Salmon was hauling oilfield mud at the time of the crash. A second truck was called in to collect his load and transport it to its destination.
The accident is currently being investigated.
