Racine, WI — A man is now facing OWI, homicide by operation of a vehicle while intoxicated, and hit and run charges after a deadly car accident in Racine. Lakethia Richardson, 43, was killed on Saturday after an early-morning car accident with Tarance Bryant, 33.
Bryant, who fled the scene, was later arrested by police, who suspected him of being under the influence of alcohol. This accident happened at about 3:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, December 13, at the intersection of Memorial Drive and 13th Street.
Richardson was driving her own vehicle when she was somehow struck by Mr. Tarance’s car. The accident resulted in Richardson’s vehicle flipping upside down, leaving her trapped inside. She died at the scene while Tarance actually fled the scene on foot.
Police were able to locate him later and subsequently arrested and charged him. This accident is still being investigated, as it’s not clear how the actual collision happened.
