APOLLO, PA — Carol Sells was killed in a car accident that happened in Apollo, Pennsylvania on Thursday, December 11th, 2014. The report released by Trib Live said that the accidetn happened at about 7:30 Thursday morning.
70-year-old Carol Sells was killed when she was struck by a Ford Contour while she was walking across Warren Avenue in the crosswalk. Sells was hit by the front passenger side of the car.
Sells was rushed by EMS personnel to Forbes Hospital where she died.
The investigation into the accident is being handled by local law enforcement.

Commentary:
If the victim was actually in the crosswalk when she was struck by the offending vehicle, I’m wondering if she had the protection of the light or a crossing sign. If so, then I can’t see too many reasons outside of a catastrophic brake failure that the driver wouldn’t bear the liability in this situation. Even if the driver had the right-of-way, it does not entitle them to hit somebody with their car if they can avoid it at all.
