Irvine, CA — A local woman from Costa Mesa died late Wednesday morning this week after she was hit by a car near a high school. Police said that Oath Tran, 47, was killed on Wednesday morning (December 10) a vehicle apparently crashed into her.
This happened at the intersection of Bryan Avenue and Rubico, while Mrs. Tran was allegedly on the sidewalk at the time. The details are still being sorted out, but it appears that a silver or white sedan lost control along Bryan Avenue and swerved off the road, hitting Tran and coming to a stop on the campus of Arnold O. Beckman High School — just right across the street from the crash site.
The driver wasn’t identified, but he was apparently seriously injured by the accident. Tran was killed immediately, however. Police said they are still working out what really happened and are requesting anyone with helpful information to contact them at 949-724-7024 (Irvine Police Department).
