Commentary
Any accident involving a school bus can get a little tricky. As school buses are municipally-owned vehicles, they’re typically protected under the doctrine of sovereign immunity, which is basically a fancy way of saying that they’re very difficult to bring claim against. Not impossible, mind, just difficult. Depending on where the accident takes place, victims actually have very little time to file a claim at all. Aside from that, there are usually limits to the amount of compensation one can receive following the accident. In these cases, victims can’t afford not to be vigilant, because every second counts.
